Psalm 10:4 The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are "There is no God."(NASB)
Pride keeps men from seeking God.
Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.(NASB)
Only pride keeps men from honestly seeking God.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.(NASB)
Pride is the deterrent to seeking God.
Luke 8:15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, hold fast, and bear fruit with perseverance. (NASB)
Pride does not produce an honest and good heart.
PRIDE MAKES MEN THINK THEY ARE SMARTER THAN GOD
Is it possible that pride would cause men to deny that Jesus said "Has been baptized shall be saved." (Mark 16:16)
Could pride be the reason some men deny that Peter said "Be baptized...for the forgiveness of your sins.."(Acts 2:38)
Is is possible some deny Jesus is the only way to heaven, because of pride? (John 14:6)
What could be more arrogant and prideful than to say, God selected me to be saved, but selected my next door neighbor to rot in hell for all eternity?
THE TERMS FOR PARDON REQUIRED NO PRIDE
1. Hear: Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.(NASB)
2. Believe: John 3:18 He who believes is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.(NASB)
3.Repentance: Acts 3:19 Therefore repent and turn, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;(NASB)
4. Confession: Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;(NASB)
5. Immersion in Water: Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved..(NASB)
Pride is the only thing keeping anyone from being saved. Pride keeps people from seeking God. Pride prevents people from believing God's simple terms for pardon.
Pride keeps many from believing the Bible, because that would mean admitting their church traditions were contrary to Scripture.
Pride keeps men from seeking God.
