ANY OTHER WAY TO BE SAVED?   BY STEVE FINNELL

Is there any other way to be saved than the way the apostles preached? What is the consequence for those who preach a gospel different than what the apostles preached?

Galatians 1:8 Let God's curses fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other way to be saved than the one we told you about; yes, if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed. (The Living Bible-Paraphrased)

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we preached unto you, let him be accursed. (King James Version)

Galatians 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you,he is to be accursed (New American Standard Bible)

John 14:6 Jesus said to him. "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. (NASB)

To state that any and all religions lead to the Father is preaching another way to be saved.

Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first born of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood--- (NASB)

To proclaim that men can have their sins forgiven apart from the fact that Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross is preaching another way to be saved.

Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved....(NASB)

To assert that belief and water baptism do not precede being saved is preaching another way to be saved.

John 1:29 The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of of world! (NASB)

To declare that Jesus does not take away the sins of the world ispreaching another way to be saved.

Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart the God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (NASB)

If you announce that men do not have to acknowledge Jesus as Lord or that you have to believe in the resurrection of Jesus from the grave to be saved, then you are preaching another way to be saved.

Hebrews 9:1-26....26 Otherwise, He would have need to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (NASB)

To affirm that the sacrifice of Jesus shedding His blood on the cross was not essential to put away sin is preaching another way to be saved.

Acts 22:16 Now why do delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name! (NASB)

To profess that you do not have to acknowledge the authority of Jesus or be baptized in water to have your sins washed away ispreaching another way to be saved.

Hebrews 2:9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while a little lower than the angels, namely Jesus, because of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. (NASB)

Jesus died for all who are willing obey the terms for pardon. For men to voice the opinion that that Jesus only died for the select few, that He preordained for salvation, is preaching another way to be saved.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; (NASB)

The gift of God is salvation by grace through faith. To advocate that men are saved because they have kept the Law of Moses or due to their good deeds is preaching another way to be saved.

John 8:24 'Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." (NASB)

If you argue that men do not have to confess Jesus, as the Son of God, to have their sins forgiven you are preaching another way to be saved.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(NASB)

Repentance means to make the commitment to turn from sin and unbelief, and turn toward God.
Baptism means to be immersed in water.
In the name of Jesus Christ means to yield to the authority of Jesus.
To contend that you can be saved without repentance, water baptism, or yielding to the authority of Jesus Christ is preaching another way to be saved.

Acts 15:1 Some men came down from Judea and began teaching the brethren, "Unless you are circumcised according to the custom  of Moses, you cannot be saved. (NASB)

Insisting that men keep that Laws of Moses as well as obeying the terms of pardon under the New Covenant is preaching another way to be saved.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. (NASB)

To advocate that men can be justified and saved from the wrath of God, other than through Jesus, and by His shed blood is preaching another way to be saved.

Ephesians 5:25-27 ....just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. (NASB)

To claim that Christ does not cleanse Christians with water according to the word of God is preaching another way to be saved.

1 Peter 3:20-21 ...safely through water. 21 Corresponding to that baptism now saves you---not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience---through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (NASB)

To insist that water baptism is not essential to salvation is preaching another way to be saved.

Acts 4:10-12 let it be know to all of you  and to all people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ  the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this name this man stands here before you in good health. 11. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone. 12 And there is is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. (NASB)

To proclaim, assert, declare, profess, contend, or argue that there are other names whereby men might be saved, other than Jesus, is preaching another way to be saved.

GALATIANS 1:9 AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, SO I SAY AGAIN NOW, IF ANY MAN IS PREACHING TO YOU A GOSPEL CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU RECEIVED, HE IS TO BE ACCURSED!
